What is recorded here

Crannog is a man-made island in County Derry, built when people wanted dry land and a defensible home above the water. The official record preserves the name and marks the site, while the lake keeps the shape of a choice made long before writing. Someone drove stakes, tossed soil, and refused the swamp. That much still stands in the water.
