Craigmad

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Craigmad as Covenanters Meeting Place (17th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1km. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Craigmad is associated with the Covenanters, a 17th-century religious and political movement in Scotland that resisted episcopal rule and upheld Presbyterianism. The site served as a secret meeting place for Covenanters, who gathered to worship and plan their resistance under threat of persecution.
