Craig Cwm Silyn rises to approximately 550 metres and is part of the rugged terrain of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountain range. Its name, meaning "Rock of the Valley of the Horned One," may reflect ancient Welsh folklore or references to a mythical or historical figure. The hill contributes to the cultural and geographical identity of the surrounding landscape in Gwynedd.
