Former military barracks, commenced c. 1800. Rubble stone boundary walls. Pair of square-profile ashlar limestone piers to north-west having carved caps, battered plinths with benchmark and recent metal gates. Square-profile rubble sandstone piers to north, now blocked up, having war department limestone marker. Pair of square-profile dressed limestone piers to south-west.

These former barrack boundary walls act as a physical reminder of the military presence which once contributed to the social, historical and economic development of Cobh. Solidly constructed, they retain interesting features such as the war department stone marker.
