Court tomb in Tawnywaddyduff stands in County Mayo, Ireland. The place is a megalithic tomb, not an ordinary pile of stones. Its name resists easy pronunciation, but the stones do not care about that. They have sat through rain, laughter, forgetting and the birth of several counties’ worth of stories. To walk past it is to admit that death was once local, visible and shared.
