Megalithic tomb in Parknabinnia, County Clare. Large stones form a long chamber with a narrow passage, built by people who wanted their dead to remain visible on the landscape. They carried stone across open ground and set it without mortar, trusting weight and angle to hold for centuries. The tomb still stands because that simple strength resisted every storm since before written history.
