Ballymacredmond holds a court tomb, one of the old megalthic burial places scattered across County Mayo. The survey of these tombs recorded it alongside other stone chambers where people laid their dead before written history began. The stones still mark a moment when the living built lasting shapes for the dead, leaving behind a quiet challenge to imagine who stood there and what they believed about ending.
