Constabulary Barrack

In pasture on the S side of a road. A ruined two-storey rectangular structure (c. 11.5m E-W; c. 6m N-S) with an embattled octagonal tower at the NE and SW corners. Walls (T 0.6m) of split random rubble sandstone, rendered. Front (N) of three bays with central door ope and large rectangular window opes (H 1.8m; Wth 1.7m) with brick surrounds. Roof originally hipped; two off-centre chimneys the upper courses of which are brick. Enclosed yard with lean-to outbuildings to rear. Named Mulgrave Police Barrack on the 1846 OS 6-inch map.
