Commonwealth

Wreck

What is recorded here

The National Monuments Record of Wales records Commonwealth as Wreck from the Modern period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The Commonwealth was a British coaster lost in 1940 during World War II after striking a mine off the coast of Wales. The vessel sank with the loss of all seven crew members; it is remembered for its tragic fate during the wartime mining campaigns targeting enemy and neutral shipping in the region.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
