Tobar Chaluim Chille, or St Columba's Well, is associated with St Columba, a 6th-century Irish missionary and founder of Iona, who is venerated in the Hebrides for his role in Christianizing Scotland. Holy wells dedicated to St Columba were often sites of pilgrimage and healing, with traditions of water cure and ritual purification linked to his miracles.
