Cocklock Scar is a sea cliff composed primarily of Carboniferous limestone, formed around 340–320 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. The scar is notable for its exposure of resistant rock layers that have withstood coastal erosion, offering a glimpse into the geological history of the Lake District and surrounding areas.
