Coastwatch Station, Cape Cornwall, was established in the 19th century to monitor shipping movements and enhance maritime safety along the south-west coast of England. It was operated by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and played a key role in coastal defence and rescue operations, particularly during the First and Second World Wars.
