Clyda Br (Lower)

Road bridge (Wth 7m; long axis NW-SE) over River Clyda. Three segmental arches (span c. 6m), dressed limestone voussoirs, repaired with some rusticated voussoirs; central and SE arch recently repaired with cement. Tall pointed cutwaters on downstream side (SW). Base of piers of denuded ashlar limestone. Bridge possibly widened by c. 6.75m on NE side making overall width 12.95m, dressed voussoirs and pointed breakwaters. Vertical stone coping atop parapet, recently repaired and raised with rough stone work. Bridge of 18th-century appearance.
