Cloughton Wyke is a coastal rock feature composed primarily of Carboniferous limestone, formed around 340 to 320 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. The area is notable for its exposure of these limestone formations, which are part of the broader geological sequence of the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors.
