What is recorded here
This clochan came to light during the course of fieldwork on the AranLIFE Farming Project (2014-2018) (see www.aranlife.ie). It is located in a slight hollow on the plateau at the NW end of Inis Mór. The land rises to the S. The clochan is oval in plan (4.6m N-S; 3.5m E-W); an opening at SE (Wth 0.4m) may mark the original entrance. It occupies the NW corner of subrectangular field and its outer wall-face has been incorporated into a later field wall from W to N. Corbelled wall coursing survives at W to a height of 1.5m and the wall, including collapse, is up to 2m wide. Along the E side the corbelled roof has collapsed inwards. Another clochan (GA110-184----) lies c. 130m to the SSW.
