What is recorded here

Knocknatubbrid holds a small rectangular cist where an adult male was buried in a crouch, facing either east or west. Thirty metres away stands a solitary stone, perhaps marking the dead or pointing toward another place. The man may have known the land well enough to choose that exact spot, trusting the stone would still be visible when others forgot his name.

In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Rectangular cist (1.1m x 0.5m) orientated E-W, contained crouched inhumation of adult male. Standing stone (CW019-066----) c. 30m distant (JKAS 1930, 26-8; JRSAI 1970, 109).
