What is recorded here

Killavarrig held two long cist burials on a hill shoulder watching north and east, but humans demolished one in 1956. The landowner later found scattered bones nearby, suggesting the dead did not stay contained when the living stopped caring.

In pasture on shoulder of hill commanding view to N and E. In field just NE of ringfort (CO123-041001-). One of two (CO123-041003-) long cist burials demolished 11/10/56 (UCC). According to landowner human bones found in field to SE c. 1966. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
