Twenty-eight granite stones stand on edge in a sandy field at the south end of Portglash Bay, forming an 8.3-metre circle with deliberate gaps toward the east and southeast. The breaks suggest entry, invitation, or the movement of people and animals through the middle rather than around it. Small stones still protrude inside the ring, marking a place where human hands shaped the ground long before written memory arrived.

Situated in a sandy field at the S end of Portglash Bay. Circular area (diam. 8.3m) defined by a series of 28 granite stones set on edge. There are breaks in the circle at E, SE and SSE. Likely dating to the Neolithic or Early Bronze Age, the Circle of Stones – Leitir Beag may have functioned as a ceremonial or ritual site, possibly linked to astronomical observations or seasonal gatherings. Such stone circles often held symbolic or spiritual significance in prehistoric communities.
