What is recorded here

No wall or roof remains above ground, yet the site still carries the shape of an early church. A sheela-na-gig once stood there, her carved body facing the world with unashamed clarity. People may have prayed beside her, laughed at her, or feared her, but they remembered the place enough to keep her story alive.

Davies (1948,111) recorded an early church site at this location and Guest (1936,109) recorded a sheela-na-gig from the site (CV026-052002-). No visible remains of a church at ground level. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
