What is recorded here
Excavations were undertaken in 2001 to the rear of 59-64 Great George's Street South within the Methodist church and adjoining hall. These uncovered the foundations of two limestone walls which were dated to between 1600 and 1650. Part of a brick house dated to the 17th century lay outside the site (Simpson 2003, 102-103).
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
