Church

What is recorded here

Excavation in the area E of the N tower of Cormac's chapel (TS061-025001-) revealed a short length of mortared stone wall underlying the eastern part of the cathedral (TS061-025003-) wall interpreted as being part of an earlier church, probably contemporary with the third and fourth phase of the graveyard (Hodkinson 1994, 73). There is no visible trace of this church above ground level. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
