Church (in Ruins)

Just E of centre in graveyard (CO075-01501-); part of W gable (L 5.3m) of church stands c. 6m high. Some slight traces of N wall; c. 12.7m to E are sod-covered foundations of E gable. Power (1918, 189) describes W gable as 'practically entire but completely covered with ivy', he also noted 'large fragment of north side recently fallen' (ibid, 190). In SE corner remains of chest tomb belonging to Coppingers of Barryscourt (O Buachalla and Henchion 1964, 115-6). Remains of parish church of Kilcurfin (Templecurraheen) in ruins by 1615 (Brady 1863, vol. 2, 91). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
