Church in Laghtsigh

Bowman (1934, 665) recorded burial ground (14142) and church site in D. Kelleher's, giving name 'Cillin' to sub-division of townland and 'Pairc na Cille' to field. Site called 'Cillin na Sleanntog - (little church of the slaty stones)...Grass-covered mounds are strewn irregularly on the site' (ibid.). Exact location not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
