Church in Dunloe Lower

The church of 'Donlethi' is listed under the deanery of Hacudeo (Aghadoe) in the Papal Taxation List (1302- 06) for the diocese of Ardfert (Cal Docs Ire, V, 297). Hickson suggested that this was to be identified as Dunloe (1891, 10). In 1633 it is noted in connection with the church of 'Knockan' (KE065-012001-), when Willmus Lane was the incumbent minister of both churches (TCD MS 2158, 37).
