What is recorded here
Church, Grave Yard is a graveyard in Shesheraghmore, County Tipperary, Ireland. It surrounds a nineteenth-century church in Borrisokane village and measures about 54 metres north to south and 54 metres east to west. The site appeared in the 1302 ecclesiastical taxation of the Diocese of Killaloe, and medieval fragments were found reused in the church walls during replastering. Its very circular shape may indicate an early date.
A nineteenth-century church is located in the centre of a graveyard n Borrisokane village. While there are no visible remains of a pre-1700 church some medieval fragments were found reused in the church walls when the church was being replastered (pers. comm. Con Manning, Nov. 1994). The site is listed in the ecclesiastical taxation of the Diocese of Killaloe in 1302 (CDI, vol. 5, 302). The graveyard (approx. dims. 54m N-S ; 54m E-W), which contains eighteenth/nineteenth-century headstones, is very circular in plan which may also be an indication of an early date.
