Childrens Burial Ground occupies the southwest quadrant of an old Galway enclosure, marking a compact rectangle where set stones still outline small east-west graves. The distinction matters because adulthood and childhood often blur in ancient death, yet this separate corner suggests the community recognised children as different even in loss. Perhaps mothers walked this strip after storms or fevers, carrying tiny bodies toward a place that did not mix them into the general dead. That much smaller mercy would have eased the cruelty of forgetting.

In SW quadrant of an enclosure (GA006-088----). Unenclosed rectangular area (E-W 12m, N-S 8m) within which numerous set stones indicate graves oriented E-W.
