Childrens Burial Ground occupies an overgrown corner of a Galway ringfort where set stones mark small graves in neat rows. The place is remembered only through that childhood name, stripping away adult ceremony and exposing the raw edge of young death. Whatever hands buried them, they did so with care enough to keep the lines straight and the direction true.

Within a ringfort (GA087-111002-). Overgrown unenclosed irregular area within which numerous set stones indicate graves oriented E-W and aligned in N-S running rows. Egan (1960, 13) states that the area is 'remembered only as a Children's Burial Ground'. A late prehistoric or early Christian children's burial ground, possibly associated with the nearby monastery of Clonmacnoise. Its location within a ringfort and the orientation of graves suggest ritual or communal significance in the local burial practices of the period.
