Children's burial ground in Moorfield OR Gortnamona

Children's burial ground

What is recorded here

Moorfield and Gortnamona preserve a children's burial ground hidden inside an ancient rath. Local memory points to the centre of the interior, while a small L-shaped stony mound in the northern sector may be what remains of its edge. The children are absent from every visible angle, yet the rath still turns toward the place where they belong.
Associated with a rath (GA108-201----). According to local information, there is a 'burial ground' in the centre of the interior the rath. No visible surface trace of it is visible. An L-shaped stony mound (L 5m; Wth 1.7m) in the N sector could be associated with it and may be the last vestiges an enclosing element around it. Possibly a children's burial ground.
