What is recorded here

Kilcoke keeps a small graveyard on Church Hill where unbaptized children still lie beneath rough, uninscribed stones. The church dedicated to St. Coca vanished long ago, but the burial place survived its own erasure. It is not a forgotten ruin or a decorative monument. It is a living boundary between divine permission and human loss, still marked by stone and memory.

Unlocated childrens burial ground within townland described by Carrigan as 'The church of Kilcoke stood within the precincts of a small graveyard on the 'Church Hill' of Kilcoke. It has long been obliterated. The graveyard is still used, but only for the interment of unbaptized children. There are some rough uninscribed headstones. The church was dedicated to, and received its name from St. Coca, Virgin, probably the same who is commemorated in the Martyrology of Donegal on June 6th' (Carrigan 1905, 141-2).
