Inside a rath in County Kerry, Ireland, unbaptised children were once buried according to local tradition. No grave markers remain visible, yet the hidden depth suggests a quiet chamber where parental love met religious exclusion. The earth may still hold small bones denied sacred ground, transforming an ordinary mound into a vessel for forgotten grief.

In a rath (KE048-065----). According to local information, 'unbaptised children were at one time buried within the interior' of the rath (O'Hare 1997, 13). There are no visible remains of any graves or grave-markers in the rath.
