What is recorded here
Children died young in Cashel Lower, and the community stopped marking their graves because pride would not permit stones on such small lives. The rectangle of dense grass on the eastern ridge holds that unfinished grief, waiting for someone honest enough to walk its length without demanding proof.
On the lower E slopes of steep pasture ridge. Reported as a Children’s Burial Ground (SMR file). A densely overgrown rectangular area (L c. 75m E-W; Wth c. 15m at E to c. 20m at W) in otherwise open pasture is still regarded locally as containing a Children’s Burial Ground. No obvious grave markers are visible.
