What is recorded here
Boltiaghadine holds a children's burial ground beside a ruined cottage, marked only by tradition rather than stone. The absence of headstones suggests these were babies or young children, buried quickly and without ceremony in coarse pasture. A ring barrow sits sixty-six metres away, waiting patiently above them. The land remembers what measurement cannot capture.
Near a ruined cottage, to the SW of a boreen in an overgrown area of coarse uncleared pasture.
There is a tradition of a children’s burial ground close to the cottage. On field inspection in 1999, there were no visible remains of a children’s burial ground at ground level at this location. It is likely that no headstones were used. A Barrow-ring-barrow (CL016-148----) is located c. 66m to the NNW.
