What is recorded here
Barroe is a cashel in County Mayo, Ireland, whose interior held a children's burial ground. The graves likely occupied the south half but disappeared beneath loose stones and overgrowth. Kids still die everywhere, and somewhere their small bodies must have gone before records began.
In a cashel (MA063-015----). The interior of the cashel was used as a children’s burial ground (pers. comm. Jimmy Tarpy, 2014). It is thought that the burials were in the S half of the interior, but it is not possible to identify graves amongst the loose stones and overgrowth that cover the interior.
