Charles Richardson (1814–1896) was a railway engineer and protégé of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, involved in the Bristol and South Wales Union Railway and the construction of the Severn Tunnel completed in 1886. He is also noted for his inventive side, having spliced a cricket bat and created a bowling catapult.
