Chapelyard, St John's Well

St John's Well at Chapelyard is traditionally associated with St John the Baptist and was likely used for healing rituals and seasonal observances. Holy wells dedicated to St John were often visited on St John's Eve (23 June) for protective charms and water cures, reflecting broader medieval Christian and pre-Christian traditions in Scotland.
