Cerrig yr Iwrch rises to approximately 300 metres and is part of the rugged upland landscape of Eryri (Snowdonia). Its name, meaning "Boar's Rocky Hill" in Welsh, may reflect ancient folklore or references to wild boar in the area. As a feature within the mapped uplands of Gwynedd, it contributes to the region's geographical and cultural character.
