Ceann a' Gharaidh is a headland composed primarily of basaltic rock, formed during the Tertiary period through volcanic activity associated with the North Atlantic Igneous Province. Its notable columnar jointing and coastal erosion features make it a distinctive and geologically significant coastal landform in the Western Isles.
