Cave

Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

On a gentle S-facing slope of improved pastureland at the E foot of Cappanawalla Hill, within a cashel (CL002-039----). Named ‘cave’ on the 1840 and 1915 OS 6-inch maps. Not listed in the SMR (1992) or the RMP (1996). On inspection in 1997 there was no visible trace, however, disturbance to the interior of the cashel may be the result of its having been dug out.
