What is recorded here

Thirty centimetres of cut stone admit a breath of outside air into the chamber, proving the builders intended repeated use rather than a single night of panic. Thirteen metres of dry-laid passage lead east to west beneath the demesne, large enough for a person to stand though not comfortably. The cave appeared accidentally during building work, not through deliberate digging, and is now closed off.

Situated to NW of Monasterboice graveyard but probably outside the outer ecclesiastical enclosure (LH021-062001-). It is marked only on the 1910 ed. of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as 'Cave', but no description of it is available. It is now inaccesible.
