What is recorded here

The cave is a narrow six-metre roofed passage inside a rath, now marked only by one stone slab that may have been its lintel. Faughnan recorded the chamber in 1943, preserving its dimensions before the earth took back most of the shape. A person could have crawled through darkness, touched smooth stone and emerged beside the rath wall, but the entrance has vanished or sunk from sight. What remains is a flat slab and the certainty that someone cut or built a chamber small enough to exclude everyone but the person who knew where to look.

One stone slab, possibly a lintel, is the only visible evidence of a Man-made underground passage described as a roofed passage (Wth c. 0.7m; L c. 6m) (Faughnan 1943, file no. 131) within rath (LE012-019001--).
