What is recorded here

Cave is a four-metre stone-filled hollow beside Eyrecourt House, named on an 1838 map but still without a visible entrance. It may be a abandoned passage, a natural cave or only a hole the land made for forgetting. A second cave-like place lies seventy-five metres away, as if the ground were learning to speak in holes.

Circa 120m to the NE of Eyrecourt House (GA108-086001-). Named ‘Cave’ in Roman script on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map. All that is evident is a small circular stone-filled depression (diam. 4m). It was not possible to determine whether this is the remains a possible Man-made underground passage or a natural cave.
