Cave

Kelly's Cave is a sixteen-metre limestone passage in County Mayo where carved benches and a roof skylight suggest a hermit once lived beside an underground stream. Local tradition claims a fugitive named Kelly sheltered there after the 1798 Rebellion or survived the Penal era as a highwayman, though no written proof remains. The cave hides inside a rath with no visible surface trace, waiting for someone brave enough to descend its four steps into darkness.
