What is recorded here

One of four openings cut into a limestone quarry face in County Cork, this cave held a single layer of Early Christian life. Coleman excavated it in 1942 and found iron, bronze, worked bone, worked stone, bird bones, fish shells, charcoal and animal remains. The mix suggests people kept livestock, hunted, foraged, cooked and perhaps made things there across ordinary days rather than marking one dramatic event.
