The Down Survey (1655-6) maps show a causeway connecting the mainland at Clontarf to Clontarf Island. This is submerged. This was apparently resorted to at various times of plague. Not precisely located.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
