What is recorded here
Gateway, c.1830, comprising elliptical-headed opening with unpainted roughcast piers having cut-limestone stringcourses, cast-iron double gates with Fleur-de-Lys finials, and roughcast parapet over having curvilinear gable and cut-stone coping. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity Without.
This gateway is an attractive and modest feature in the streetscape of Mayor’s Walk. The gates are of some artistic merit and contribute to the design quality of the composition.
