Castleton Wood Defended Enclosure is an Iron Age defended enclosure in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. It is the kind of place where people built boundaries because the land itself did not offer much protection. The wood may have hidden fires, tools, arguments and children running between posts. Much of that life has disappeared, but the enclosure still marks the human claim made there: this ground was shaped, owned or protected enough to be remembered.
