What is recorded here

Castlelaw Hill carries medieval and post-medieval rig and furrow marks, still visible beside a scheduled fort and modern firing ranges in Midlothian. The land has served soldiers, farmers and surveyors, while the old field lines preserve the shape of repeated human labour. That much is recorded; what is missing is the sound of the people who made those lines, and imagining them does not require inventing a name or date.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castlelaw Hill as Rig and Furrow (medieval) - (post Medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
