Built by the MacCausland (MacCafferty) clan in the 15th or 16th century, Castlecaufield is remembered as a historic site associated with the Gaelic lords of the Clandeboy region in County Tyrone. It is important as a testament to the medieval Irish lordships that existed before the English plantations.
