Castle Wetherall stands in ruins on a slight rise above undulating Offaly countryside, preserving only four metres of its north wall and scattered footings. The wall stretches five metres long and nearly a metre thick, marking a possible 17th-century residence now reduced to a bare ridge against the sky. A chimney flue at the west end suggests a hearce once warmed the room, while the missing rooms and roof have returned to grass and memory.

Situated on a slight rise in undulating countryside. Only a portion of the N wall survives with wall footings elsewhere. The N wall measures 4m high, 5m long and 0.9m thick, with evidence of a chimney flue at W end of N wall. No other architectural features evident. Possible 17th-century date.
