What is recorded here
Whitescastle Lower holds an unclassified castle in County Kilkenny, but no public detail explains whether it was a home, a trap or a border mark. That absence makes the castle larger, because the mind fills the vacancy with towers, dungeons and occupied rooms. A castle should be easy to picture, yet this one resists picture and judgment.
